StartupBlink Blog

Since 2017, we publish the Global Startup Ecosystem Index Report annually, ranking the top 1,000+ cities and 100+ countries worldwide. StartupBlink’s Index is based on an elaborate algorithm with ca. 40 parameters focused on measuring various aspects of the ecosystem, including its size, impact, and business/startup friendliness, categorized into three key groups: Quantitative, Qualitative, and Business Environment metrics.

This report is created in collaboration with global partners like Crunchbase, Semrush, and Statista, along with hundreds of ecosystem partners, including governments, municipalities, international organizations and local startup support organizations. If you’d like to join them and ensure your organisation gets visibility across hundreds of thousands of decision makers and your ecosystem is accurately represented in the StartupBlink Index 2025, please reach out to us. In this article, we will highlight the benefits and conditions of becoming our data partner.

The 5 Benefits of Becoming our Ecosystem Partner

1. Ensure Better Representation for Your Ecosystem

Our ecosystem partners are granted one admin user account to curate entities in their city.  This admin access allows them to add, edit, and delete entities. The complementary ecosystem partners can add up to 30 entities for each partnership period.

2. High Visibility

We endorse our ecosystem partners’ logos under their country section on the next StartupBlink Index (see an example from 2024 below), a widely mentioned and downloaded report by hundreds of thousands of decision-makers worldwide.

3. Increase your organization's recognition

Be listed alongside partners in the official StartupBlink Index 2025 partner directory, your organization will reach an audience of over half a million annual viewers on the StartupBlink platform.

4. Valuable Networking

Take advantage of the opportunity to connect and collaborate with a diverse network of over 100 government stakeholders from around the globe, creating meaningful partnerships and exchanging valuable insights.

5. Promotion

Gain the unique chance to highlight and promote a key initiative of your choice to our highly engaged audience, which includes over 50,000 newsletter subscribers looking to learn about impactful projects and innovations.

What are the commitments of becoming our Ecosystem Partner?

We would like to make this partnership fruitful for both parties. Hence we set up some conditions to satisfy once you become our ecosystem partners.

  1. Add a minimum of 10 entities to the map until the next report release date. This ensures that your ecosystem is presented with a good sample size.
  2. Announce the partnership on your preferred social media channel within a month of joining as a partner.
  3. Provide a quote from a senior representative (e.g., Minister, Head of Innovation, or Ecosystem Leader) to feature in the country overview section of the Startup Ecosystem Index Report, emphasizing the ecosystem’s growth.
  4. If your ecosystem ranking momentum is positive, let the world hear about it by publishing your positive ranking results in your marketing channels and notifying the local press.

Here are some notable testimonials for previous versions of the StartupBlink Index:

“This report proves we are Europe’s undisputed tech powerhouse – producing billion-dollar firms and successful startups across the country and transforming cities every year. But we aren’t complacent and are moving to make sure the UK remains one of the best places in the world to start, scale, and attract record levels of investment in tech businesses.” Chris Philip, former Minister for Tech and the Digital Economy, the United Kingdom

“Startup Blink has once again confirmed to be a significant source of information with regard to the development of the startup ecosystems worldwide. As clearly revealed by Startup Blink’s report, over the last year Italy has shown a notable growth compared to the previous one. This represents valuable evidence of the targeted efforts that are being made within our flourishing ecosystem. Among other factors,  this can  also be explained by  the attraction of new foreign investors and to the new CdP Venture Capital plan aimed at allocating up to 8 billions of euros in 2028 in support of startups and scaleups.

Our highest ambition is that Italy becomes a real Startup Nation which is able to strengthen its competitiveness and promote qualified employment at the international level.” Former President of InnovUp, Cristina Angelillo, Italy.

“In the dynamic global landscape of innovation, we are thrilled to witness Malta’s ongoing ascent in the 2024 Global Startup Ecosystem Index.
